In a post-apocalyptic Chicago, survivors were divided into five factions based on their dispositions: Abnegation, for the selfless; Amity, for the peaceful; Candor, for the honest; Dauntless, for the brave; and Erudite, for the intellectual. Tris, born into Abnegation, goes through her aptitude test, where she finds out that she is Divergent and immune to the serums given to her. She chooses Dauntless, and goes through training with Tobias, know as Four. However, the political balance of the city is breaking as the factions start fighting over each other. Tris and her friends must work together to bring peace to society once again.
